Nerves and Blood Supply

Blood supply to the knee is provided by (Netter 481):

- descending branch of lateral femoral circumflex artery
- genicular branches of the popliteal artery
- descending genicular artery derived from the femoral artery
- recurrent branches from the anterior tibial artery

Nerve supply provided by the nerves that cross the joint:

- femoral
- obturator
- tibial
