Dr. Schacht is an associate professor and licensed clinical psychologist in the Addiction Sciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he leads the Alcohol and Brain Imaging Laboratory (ABIL). He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and completed his predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at MUSC. His research focuses on the genetic and neurobiological substrates of substance use disorders.
