Johann Ulrich Bär

Johann Ulrich Bär, son of Felix, was baptised 23 Apr 1689 at the Lutheran Church, Ittlingen, Pfalz (Map). Johann married Anna Klein, daughter of Hans Michael Klein and Susanna Elisabetha Wohlgemuth, on 19 Nov 1715 in the Kirchardt Reformed Church, Kirchardt, Pfalz. Anna was born 25 December 1693 in Kirchardt, Pfalz. She died 1730 in Kirchardt, Pfalz.

Johann Ulrich and Anna Klein had the following children:

  1. Susanna Agatha Bär was baptised 28 Feb 1720 at the Lutheran Church, Ittlingen, Pfalz.

  2. Maria Agatha Bär was baptised 28 Feb 1720 in Ittlingen, Pfalz. Maria married Johann Conradt Giese Sr., son of Heinrich Gysi and Maria Magdalena Burchardt, about 1745 in, York Co., PA. They had seven children.
    Land Transactions involving Maria Agatha:
    17 Dec 1764. Upon the death of Samuel Wolf, husband of Anna Elisabeth (Bär) Wolf, he willed his land to his wife. He named his only "child" as Maria Agatha. [Maria is actually the sister-in-law of Samuel Wolf.]
    17 Dec 1771. Upon the death of Anna Elisabeth she left the land to Maria Agatha. Deed GG-2, pp 170-171.
    Maria Agatha died 17 Dec 1787 in York Twp., York Co., PA.
    17 Dec 1787. Maria Agatha died intestate and passed on the land from Anna Elisabeth. Deed GG-2, pp 313-316.
    22 Mar 1788. Conradt Giese sold Anna Elisabeth/Maria Agatha land to their brother, George Bär. Elizabeth Twp., PA. Deed GG-2-314.

  3. Johann Martin Bär was born 19 January 1722 in Ittlingen, Pfalz. He died before 1767 in Pennsylvania.

  4. Maria Barbara Bär was born 3 August 1723 in Ittlingen, Pfalz.

  5. Anna Elisabeth Bär was born 16 August 1725 in Ittlingen, Pfalz. She died before 1771. Anna married Samuel Wolf. Samuel died 1764. See land records for Maria Agatha (above).

  6. Johann Ulrich Bär, Jr. was born 15 November 1727 in Ittlingen, Pfalz.

  7. Anna Barbara Bär was born 31 January 1729 in Ittlingen, Pfalz and was baptised 9 December 1730 in Lutheran Church, Ittlingen, Pfalz. She died 2 March 1792. Anna married Johann Henrich Uhler, son of John Ulrich Uhler, on 16 February 1751. Johann died 8 February 1795. They had 4 Children.

Johann Ulrich also married Anna Schupp, daughter of Christoph Schupp, on 28 August 1731 in Kirchardt Reformed Church, Kirchardt, Pfalz.

They immigrated on the ship Dragon, 30 September 1732 and warranted a 113 acre tract called Springfield, Warwick Township. (now Clay Township), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Later they lived in Elizabeth Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Johann Ulrich and Anna Schupp had the following children:

  1. Adam Bär was born about 1732. He died in Elizabeth Twp, Lancaster Co., PA. Weaver. Adam married Catharine. After his death she married the widower Christofer Scherom on 16 August 1785 at the First Reformed Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

  2. Henry Bare was born about 1735 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

  3. Catharine Bare was born about 1740 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

  4. George Bare was born about 1753 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He died 1803.

  5. Martin Bare was born about 1755 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.. Martin married (1) Catharina Schnurler on 6 May 1781. They had three children: David, Joseph, and Martin Bear.
    Martin also married (2) Magdalena Martha Eby about 1790. They had three children: Benjamin (b aft 1793), Henry, and Anne Bear.
    Martin died April 1814. His will was probated 12 April 1814

Johann Ulrich died intestate in 1749. His estate was inventoried in 1749 in Elizabeth Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Orphans' Court document, 2 December 1767, alloted the tract of land to his eldest son, Adam Baer.
