Johann Wilhelm Müller, son of Johannes Müller, was born born 21 Feb 1822 in Ober-Seemen, Germany and baptised 24 February 1822. His godfather was his great uncle, Johannes Müller (1777). Johann Wilhelm earned his living in Ober-Seeman as a blacksmith, farmer, and tax collector. His occupation was listed as: Smith, Ackermann (Fieldman) Gemeinderechner (literally community-counter = census taker?). He married Maria Bach, daughter of Kaspar Bach and Anna, on 2 August 1845 in Ober-Seeman. She was born 2 June 1823.

In August 1857 Maria (Bach) Miller and her 3 surviving children, Johannes, Anna Christina, and George set sail from Bremenhaven in northern Germany aboard the Bark Blücher. They arrived at the Port of Baltimore on 11 September 1857. Tom Hench has written a marvelous story about Maria and children's trip in 1857. They settled in York County, Pennsylvania before 1860. 1860 Census: Heidelberg Township, York County, Pennsylvania Johann died 24 February 1866 in York County, Pennsylvania and was buried in St. Matthew's Church, Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania. Maria Bach died 22 November 1896 in York County, Pennsylvania. |
