John Kuhn II

John Kuhn II (son of Henry Kuhn) was born about 1749 in Cedar Creek, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. John married Catharine Eckenroth, daughter of Johannes Eckenroth and Anna Margaret, on 18 January 1767 in Monte Acuto, Spitzenburg Hill, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Catharine was born about 17 November 1746 in Philadelphia County, PA. They moved with their children and Anna Margaret to Adams County, PA before 1790.

John and Catharine had the following children:

  1. Henry Kuhn was born 8 January 1769 in Macungie Township, Northampton County, PA. Baptismal Sponsors: Henry Kuhn and Margaret Schmitt. Henry married Catharine Litzinger about 1794 in Adams County, PA. Catharine was born 29 March 1769. She died in Adams County and was buried at Conewago Chapel, Conewago, Adams County, PA. Henry died 22 June 1812.

  2. John Kuhn Jr. was born March 1771 in Cedar Creek, Northampton County, PA. John married (1) Mary Barbara Schoenbruck on 1 May 1804. Mary was born about 1783. She died 8 June 1812. John also married (2) Catharine Henrich on 3 March 1818. Catharine was born about 1791.

  3. James Jacob Kuhn was born before 15 October 1772 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA and was baptised 15 October 1772 in Greenwich Township. Adams County Church Records of the 18th Century, Page 206, Record of Marriage. James married Magdalena Haln on 26 March 1799 in Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA. Magdalena was born about 1772. Name also listed as Kaln/Hahn/Haen/Haune. James died 31 March 1825 in Mt Pleasant Township, Adams County, PA and was buried in Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA. Will lists children as: Kitty, Terrease, Eve, Peggy, Mary, John, Joseph, Polly, Peter, and Betsy.

  4. Joseph Kuhn was born 10 December 1774 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA. Joseph married Catharine Breighner/Buchen about March 1800 in Adams County, PA. Catharine was born about 1779. She died 20 June 1853 in Paradise Township, York County, PA. Joseph died 24 January 1827 in Adams County, PA. Will dated 13 Jan 1821.

  5. Catharine Kuhn was born 5 February 1777 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA. Baptism sponsors John Fuss & Catharine Eckenroth. She died about 1780 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA. Not mentioned in mother's will (1815).

  6. Anna Margaret Kuhn was born before 21 February 1778 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA and was baptised 21 February 1778. Baptism sponsors George and A. Margaret Eckenroth (Grandmother)
    Anna married Peter Breighner, Jr. on 21 October 1798 in Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA. Peter was born about 1780. Anna died 7 Feb 1826 in Adams County, PA and was buried in Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA.

  7. George Kuhn was born 11 Mar 1780 and died 17 Nov 1825. George married Susanna Felix about 1801 in Adams County, PA. They had 8 children.

  8. Eva Kuhn was born about 1785 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA. Eva married Peter Faller on 8 May 1808 in Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA. Peter was born 2 June 1779. He died 23 August 1832 in Mt Pleasant Township, Adams County, PA. Eva died before 23 August 1832 in Adams County, PA.

  9. Teresa Kuhn was born about 1785 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA. Teresa married Joseph Myers/Mayer on 1 February 1807 atConewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA. Joseph was born about 1785. John Kuhn (father) & Henry Kuhn (brother), marriage witnesses

  10. Christian Kuhn was born about 1785 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA. Christian married (1) Catharine Kohl on 5 February 1809 at Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove, Adams County, PA. Catharine was born 1789. She died 19 February 1832 in Adams County and was buried at Conewago Chapel, Edge Grove.
    Christian also married (2) Margaret Lupp on 12 February 1833. Margaret was born about 1790.

John Kuhn II died 11 Sep 1807 in Mt Pleasant Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Catharine died 29 May 1815 in Mt Pleasant Township.
