St. Ulrich's Church (now Christ Church)The current Christuskirche was erected between the years 1752 and 1754 as a Reformed church on the site of the medieval St. Ulrich's Church. St. Ulrich's Church was the home church for our Gysi ancestors in Hassloch from the time of their arrival to Conradt's departure in 1741. St. Ulrichskapelle (Chapel) had been originally constructed between 1604 and 1607 and had been subsequently expanded. The original chapel was included in the new construction of the larger church in the village center during 1752 to 1754 as a Reformed Chruch.. As Christ Church it stands with the later expanded tower as a center of life of the large village. It has served as the people's mouth "the largely Kerch" as a house of God house for the reformed confession. Photo below courtesy of Tanya Volhardt.
