Richard Harrison, Sr.
Richard Harrison, Sr. was born in
West Kirby, Cheshire, England. He married Sarah Yorke
in England and they had 6 children, two of whom were our direct ancestors. They
came to America about 1644 and Richard took the Oath of Allegiance in New Haven,
CT on 5 August 1644.
Richard and Sarah had the following children:
- Richard Harrison
Jr. was born about 1620 in West Kirby, Cheshire, England. About
1644 Richard arrived in CT with his father. Richard married Sarah
Hubbard and they had 8 children. Richard died in 1690 in Newark, Essex
Co., NJ.
- Thomas Harrison was born about 1630 in West
Kirby, Cheshire, England. He died in 1704 in Brandon, CT.
Thomas married (1) Dorothy in February 1655/1656. Thomas married (2) Elizabeth
on 29 March 1666.
- Maria Harrison was born was born about 1635
in West Kirby, Cheshire, England. Maria married Thomas
Pierson Sr. son of Rev.
Samuel Pierson and Elizabeth Armitage on
27 November 1662 in Branford, New Haven Co., CT. They moved to Newark, NJ
in 1666. She died before 1701 in Newark, Essex Co., NJ.
- Elizabeth Harrison was born about 1635 in
West Kirby, Cheshire, England. Elizabeth married (1) Henry
Lynn. Henry died on 14 January 1662/1663. Son of John Badby of Northampton,
England. Elizabeth married (2) John Lampson of
New Haven, CT. Elizabeth married (3) John Morris of
New Haven, CT. Elizabeth Harrison was his second wife. They moved to Newark,
NJ in 1666.
- Samuel Harrison married Sarah
Johnson. Samuel died in 1704 in Newark, Essex Co., NJ
- Ellen Harrison married John Thompson on 25
February 1650/1651.
Richard Harrison, Sr. died on 25 October 1653 in Branford, New Haven
Co., CT. Sarah went to Newark, Essex Co., NJ with her children in 1666 where
she died in 1675.
