Our Brinkmann/Bringman Lineage

1. Frederick Brinkmann (~1725-1788)

Frederick Brinkmann was born about 1725 in Europe (possibly in Switzerland).  Frederick married Catharina Heilmann in 1750 in Holland. Catharina was born on 2 June 1730 in Wachtersbach, Wetterau. They arrived in Philadelphia on the Ship Edinburgh on 13 August 1750 and took up residence in York Borough. They had eleven children (ten of whom are known).  Frederick died on 23 September 1788 in York, York County, PA. Catharina died on 10 March 1795 in York, York County, PA.

2. John Bringman (1765-18??)

John Bringman was born on 31 March 1765 in York County, PA. He was baptised on 15 April 1765 at the Moravian Church, York, York County, PA. Baptismal sponsors: John Heckedorn and Christopher Haller. John married Christina about 1785. They had five children.  Christina was born about 1765. Catharina died after 1800 and John died after 1802.

3. Jacob Bringman (1794-1873)

Jacob Bringman was born on 16 January 1794 in Dubs Nill, York County, PA. Jacob married Mary Rentzel. She was born about 1781 in PA. They had three or four children. Mary died after 3 August 1870 in PA.  Jacob died on 4 October 1873 in Jackson Township, York County, PA. 

4. John Bringman (1817-1881)

John Bringman was born on 27 January 1817 in York County, PA.  He married Anna Mary Bowersox daughter of John George and Susan (Hershey) Bauersachs in 1851 in Hanover, York County, PA. Anna was born on 16 Apr 1830 in Hanover, York County, PA. They had six children.  John died on 5 March 1881 in York County, PA.  He was buried in Spring Grove, York County, PA. Anna Mary died on 9 January 1893 in York County, PA. She was buried in Spring Grove, York County, PA.

5. Anna Bowersox Bringman (1861-1931)

Anna Bowersox Bringman was born 9 October 1861 in Jackson Township, York County, PA.  She was baptised at St. John's Lutheran Church, Abbottstown Boro, Adams County, PA on 2 November 1862.  She married George Bach Miller about 1885.  They had 6 children. Anna died of cancer on 2 August 1931 and is buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, York County, PA.
