John Bringman (II)

John Bringman, son of Jacob Bringman, was born on 27 January 1817 in York County, PA. John married Anna Mary Bowersox daughter of John George and Susan (Hershey) Bauersachs in 1851 in Hanover, York County, PA. Anna was born on 16 April 1830 in Hanover, York County, PA.

From typed notes of John B. Miller dated 30 June 1963: John Bringman 1817-1881.  John and Anna Mary Bowersox lived on what is now the Caspar Hoke farm (now farmed by his son George) which lies north and midway along the Menges Mills-Spring Grove road. Here the children Amanda, George, Peter, Annie, Jacob, and John were born.

John and Anna had the following children:

  1. Amanda Bringman was born on 9 June 1853 in Spring Grove, York County, PA. Amanda married Henry Rudisill about 1876 in Codorus, York County, PA. Henry was born on 13 May 1856 in Cdorus, York County, PA. They had nine children: Alice, Harry, Clara, Annie, Howard, William, Martin, Masie, and Katie. Henry died on 23 September 1907 in York County, PA. He was buried in Fairview Cem, Hellam Township, York County, PA.
    From typed notes of John B. Miller dated 30 June 1963: Started farming on the Eyster farm near Roth's Church in Jackson Township. Later on a farm near Abbottstown and finally on a farm adjoining Boro of Wrightsville. The father, Henry, died here in 1907, and the mother, Amanda, later lived with her daughter Katie on Prospect St., York. She died on 14 October 1921. She was buried in Fairview Cem, Hellam Township, York County, PA.

  2. George Bringman was born on 2 April 1857. George married Rachel Heller. Rachel was born in April 1866 in MD. They had no children. George died in February 1921.

  3. Peter M. Bringman was born on 11 August 1859 in York County, PA. Peter married Emma J. Senft. Emma was born about 1860. They had three children: Annie (1883), Dr. Mark (1885), Jennie G. (1888-1891).  Peter died on 3 Febrary 1930.
    Note from P.M. Bringman 3 February 1930: "I hereby give and assign all my rights to the Lot No. 7 in Spring Grove cemetery to my Sister Annie Miller for the sum of $100. And it is hereby agreed that the remains of Jennie G. Bringman, buried on said lot, shall never be disturbed." This lot was then sold to Mrs. Esther A. Geesey on 21 June 1932 for $50. Esther gave the lot to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Spring Grove on 21 January 1992.

  4. Anna Bowersox Bringman was born on 9 October 1861 in York County, PA. She was baptised on 2 November 1862 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Abbottstown Boro, Adams County, PA. She died of cancer on 2 August 1931 in York County, PA. She was buried on 4 August 1931 in Spring Grove, York County, PA.

  5. Jacob B. Bringman was born on 7 October 1864 in PA. Jacob married Annie H. Reynold daughter of Emanuel D. Reynold about 1887. Annie was born in Oct 1870 in PA. They had one daughter, Iva, born 1889 who married Roy Brillhart of Porter's Sideline, York County, PA.

    Annie died after April 1910. Jacob died in 1922.

  6. John H. Bringman was born on 7 April 1867. He was baptised on 15 November 1867 in Abbottstown Boro, Adams County, PA. John married Mary Shireman on 17 December 1893 in Spring Grove, York County, PA, by Rev. Parr. Mary was born in Nov 1872 in PA.
