Andrew Bondura Sr.

Andrew Bondura Sr. was born 27 November 1897 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Listed in 1900 and 1910 Census with parents as Edward. Coal miner in Northumberland County beginning as a boy (age 11). Lost his thumb in a mining accident during the 1920s. Spent time in Danville Hospital, but not released due to having no family. Finally released to his future in-laws' care.

Andrew married Mary Helen Kolego, daughter of John Kolego Jr. and Annie Andrews. Mary was born 3 November 1908 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. She was very ill after the birth of twins John and Joseph in 1928.

Andrew and Mary had the following children:

1. Andrew Leonard Bondura Jr. was born 24 December 1927 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. Andrew married Betty. Korean War Veteran. They had no children. Manager at Bethlehem Steel. Andrew died October 1972 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Baltimore City, Maryland and was buried 2 November 1972.
   
   
2. John Bondura was born in 1928 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He died immediately after birth in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA.
   
   
3. Joseph Bondura was born in 1928 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He died 1928 in Marion Heights, Northumberland Countyy, PA within 3 months after birth.
   
   
4. Dorothy Bondura was born in 1930 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. Dorothy married Alfred Troch.
   
   
5. Clara Ann Bondura was born in 1932 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. Clara married Marion Paul Lomonico. Paul died in 1996.
   
   
6. Raymond Bondura was born in 1933 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. Tavern Owner Raymond married Jackie McClure.
   
   
7. Michael John Bondura was born in 1935 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. He served in the military during the Korean War. Michael married Patricia Ann Cronin.
   
   
8. Edward David (Butch) Bondura was born in 1937 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, PA. Vietnam Veteran. Edward married Mary Palumbo.
   
   
9. George Bondura was born in 1938 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Served in Marine Corps, 1958-1961. George married Yvonne Dianne Kerr .
   
   
10. Franklyn P. Bondura was born in 1939 in Marion Heights, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Franklyn married Annmarie Puskar.
    
    
11. Marieann Claire Bondura was born in 1942 in Baltimore City, Maryland. Marieann married Frank Bernard Alevato.

Andrew moved to Baltimore about 1940 due to the general closing of the mines. They left a lot of property behind. Rest of family (wife and children) came to Baltimore 15 December 1941. Andrew worked as a steel worker for Eastern Stainless Steel Corporation. Andrew died 17 January 1982 at Church Home Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Mary died 26 November 1998 at the Riverview Nursing Home in Essex, Baltimore County, Maryland.
