Alton Luther Geesey, son of Edwin Felty, was born 6 Dec 1907 in Baltimore, MD and was baptised 9 Feb 1911 by Pastor R.S. Poffenbarger at Solomon's Lutheran Church in Woodsboro, Frederick Co., MD. Pharmacist. Alton married Esther Amanda Miller, daughter of George Bach Miller and Anna Bowersox Bringman, on 6 September 1930 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, York Co., PA. Esther was born 4 August 1905 in Spring Grove, York Co., PA and was baptised Deemberc 1905 in Spring Grove, York Co., PA. She died 13 Aug 1998 in Natl. Luth. Home, Rockville, Montgomery Co., MD and was buried 19 August 1998 in Rose Hill Cem., Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD.

Graduate of the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, Baltimore, MD - 7 June 1930. Certified pharmacist by Maryland Board of Pharmacy, 30 August 1930.
First lived on 2626 E. Biddle St, Baltimore; bought Hagerstown pharmacy in mid 1931.
Member of the Masons. Adult advisor to DeMolay in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Alton and Esther had the following children:

  1. George Edwin Geesey was born in 1933 and married Mary Ann Leber. They had 1 child. Mary died 10 May 1959. George also married Rebecca Ann Mullen. They had 3 children. A brief guide to the Papers of George Geesey at the University of Maryland.

  2. Roger Alan Geesey was born in 1936 and married Alice Elaine Frischknecht, daughter of Leon Harold Frischknecht and Caroline Maass. They have 3 children.

Proprietor (owner), West End Pharmacy, 345 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD, 1936-1949. Sold store in 1950. Employed at Fisher's Pharmacy in Halfway (Hagerstown); then Schindle's Pharmacy in Hagerstown, MD.
Moved to retirement home June 1982 - from Marbern Road to Ravenwood Lutheran Cottage, Hagerstown, MD.
He died 25 Jul 1984 in Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD of cancer of the soft palate and throat and was buried 28 July 1984 in Rose Hill Cem., Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD.
