Mark and Maria Geesey's Family Home Page

News from Mt. Pleasant, SC, March 2005

Rob Fowler of TV2 Charleston gave the cub scouts a great tour of the TV station. The parents probably enjoyed the tour just as much as (if not more than) the kids.

The annual Cub Scout Blue and Gold awards banquet was held on February 26. All of the scouts in Den 1 received their Tiger Cub Patch for all of the outstanding work they have done this year. They also sang a song for the entire pack. Our den won an award for the best selection of food and the best (actually only) banner.

We are eagerly awaiting the advent of Spring. We have already made plans for our gardens and have started some planting of hardier plants. We hope that you and your families are happy and healthy. Please drop us a line and let us know how you are doing.

This winter has been a quiet time for our family except for a trip Mark and Maria made up to Maria's parents the first week of February. Maria's father had surgery to remove a part of his colon due to cancerous growth. We stayed for several days while he recovered in the hospital. The surgeon was optimistic that he had removed all of the cancer and that dad would survive a good long time. Mark's mother came down to Charleston to stay with the kids so that they wouldn't have to miss any school.

Kyle and Cosette are still doing very well in school. Kyle took ice skating lessons this winter, but he's not sure whether he really wants to continue taking more. His sporting activities include Tae Kwon Do Karate and, coming this Spring, baseball, again.
