Mark and Maria Geesey's Family Home Page

News from Mt. Pleasant, SC, July 2005

Spring is birthday time in the Geesey household. Cosette turned 5 in March and Kyle was 7 in May. Cosette's party was at our home, and included our now traditional Easter egg hunt.

Kyle wanted a Star Wars Beach Party. We're not sure how the two are related, but we did the best we could. The important thing was that everyone, including the parents, had a fun time. It was a great day at the beach for Kyle's party. It really didn't take long to cart the tent and refreshments out there. Even the ice cream cake stayed frozen long enough to enjoy. We had planned on only being out there for 2 hours, but everyone was having such a blast that when we finally left after 3 hours, some guests were still enjoying the first good beach day of the year.

Jonathan, Kyle, and Jackson kidding around.

Cosette's primary sporting interest has become horseback riding. She has always been fascinated by horses and we have now begun her with riding lessons. Her first lesson was in July and she learned about riding and horse care. This promises to be a very expensive activity, but her enthusiasm and interest in it make it worth the time and money.

Kyle's sporting activities are now Tae Kwon Do karate and baseball. He hasn't figured out which he likes better, but for now he really doesn't need to decide. At a local karate tournament he took first place in Three Step Sparring and fourth place in Forms in his class: PeeWee white belts. Kyle has since advanced to Yellow belt.
