I am currently an assistant professor
(on the tenure-track) of Biostatistics in the
Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology,
Medical University of South Carolina.
This division is one of the many divisions within the
Department of Medicine
at MUSC.
I am also affiliated to the
Center for Oral Health Research (COHR) and also to the
CTN Network
at MUSC as a co-investigator.
My primary research interests are in Bayesian biostatistics, survival analysis, nonparametric methods, analysis
of clustered/longitudinal data, time series data and also their applications
to problems of epidemiology.
Lately, I was involved in studying rates
of sexual recidivism among juveniles and adoloscents
in South Carolina through a study funded by the
CDC
and
NIJ.
Currently,
I am studying the periodontal health status and progression
of the
Gullah
speaking African Americans residing in
the coastal South Carolina (SC) sea-islands
through a NIH/NCRR funded project under the SC
COBRE (Center for Biomedical Research Excellence) mechanism.
My recent interests also involve application of novel statistical
methods to data on substance abuse and alcohol addiction.
