Pleurae
2 layers:
parietal pleura: lining thoracic wall,
covering thoracic surface of
mediastinum,
 and extending into root of lung
visceral pleura: completely covering
outer surfaces of lung and extending
into interlobar fissures
2 layers become continuous
at hilum of lung, forming pleural cuff
of connecting pleura
Pulmonary ligament: loose fold
hanging below cuff; allows for
movement
of pulmonary vessels and bronchi
during respiration
