Welcome
to the Web-based Instruction in Assistive Technology for School Personal.
This course concentrate on the assistive technology tools that we feel
have the greatest applicability in the school setting: seating and positioning
aids, mobility aids, communication devices and alternative writing devices.
Throughout the semester, the participants will develop the skills necessary
to evaluate for assistive technology tools and implement the use of
technology aids and devices within the context of your curriculum. At
the end of the course, they will receive hands-on training on many of
the assistive aids and devices seeing throughout the course.
Funded
with a grant from the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council
(Grant #112-21-0013), the course and its team
are based at MUSC.
This project combines the use of teaching modules
delivered on CDs with online discusssions, chatlines and exams through
an online course management system called WebCT.
