In 1982 I am graduated from the Physico-Mathematical School #18 originated by The mathematician Kolmogorov. In Russian its description sounds routine: a secondary school with in-depth physics and mathematics..., we called it internat or licey; in English a college  is probably in range.

My next school for six years was the Moscow Physico-Technical Institute. An alternative translation to English is Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) which sounds like american MIT. However, for physicists it is better known as FIZTECH.
